Craft With Me!

Happy Friday from my new classroom (A.K.A. my living room)! If you’re anything like me, you’re feeling the same boredom as I am during this quarantine. Thankfully, I have found many hobbies and activities to try, including some that I will continue to pursue even after everything is back to normal. One activity that I have been doing for a few months is crocheting fidget sleeves, and after some looong hours of editing videos, I finally have a way to share this project with you!

These past few weeks, I have been recording, editing, and posting two videos to my new YouTube channel. These two videos show me making a crochet fidget sleeve from start to finish. The first one shows how to crochet the sleeve base and the second one shows how to attach decorations to the sleeve. If you are running out of things to do during this quarantine, I really hope you will check out my videos and make a sleeve of your own! I would love it if you would join me in this project and help others along the way.

By sharing this series, I hope to spread awareness about a project I am working on called "Crocheting for a Cause." With this project, I donate crochet fidget sleeves to facilities (like nursing homes) and to individuals who are affected by Alzheimer's. I hope to share my project with you by providing these virtual classes and inspiring you to make a fidget sleeve!

IF YOU MAKE A SLEEVE:

First, I would like to say congratulations! It can be difficult to learn a new skill, but you took on the challenge and I'm proud. I also want to thank you for putting your time and energy into this project; it means so much to me. When you finish a sleeve, please let me know at volunteering2help@gmail.com. I would love to hear from you and see a picture of your sleeve!

Next, if you do not have a place or person to donate your sleeve to, please email me at volunteering2help@gmail.com and I can easily make an arrangement. I am in contact with many different facilities and individuals who would greatly appreciate your sleeve.

If you have any questions or comments, get in touch with me by emailing volunteering2help@gmail.com. I will get back to you as soon as possible!

Thank you again for your willingness to participate in this project! I pray you all are staying safe, happy, and healthy. I hope to see each and every one of you soon!
