Sock Hop

Author: Libby Newell

On February 24th, Lamar’s elementary students and senior class danced the night away at the annual Sock Hop, which is a mid-20th century dance for young people. Each year, Lamar’s senior class has a sock hop and all the proceeds go to the senior class gift for the school. Everyone attending the Sock Hop dressed in poodle-skirts, leather jackets, and pink ladies’ wear to embrace the 50s and 60s style. There was a record number of tickets sold this year. All the proceeds go to the senior class gift.
