New Beginnings In Bloom
Spring. Whether our temperamental Mississippi weather reveals it or not, it’s upon us. The season of rain, of flowers, of green is also the season of rebirth, of renewal. I’m attempting to take that concept and apply it to my waning senior year, but instead of motivation, all I can invoke are images of frolicking lambs. Even as the year is ending, AP exam frenzy is only beginning, and the chaos of post-Spring Break is not exactly being welcomed. After Spring Break comes the beginning of the end. Truly. Technically August was the beginning of the end, but that was more a milestone for the parents. Back in August, May 15th felt more idealistic than realistic, and oh so unattainable. And with Spring Break, that bubble breaks, for better or for worse. Spring Break also brings the encroaching end to my time here at Postscript, which is an odd concept for me, its creator. But really, the idea of senior year is an odd concept. We are all preparing ourselves for the day we leave the grounds of Lamar, and, for most, Meridian. In a sense, it's a season of renewal as well. With Spring arrives our futures, and as for that, I think that’s a little more powerful – and exciting – than spring fever.
