Dear Lily: Volume VI

Dear Lily,

It is the third week of school, and I want to change my classes. I am taking all AP and hard classes this year, but I want my senior year to be fun. I thought this would be a good idea, but it is starting to catch up with me now that I have begun sports practices every day after school. I can’t go back now, and my grades are worse than they normally are. I have so much homework every night, and after going to multiple practices and games almost every day, I can’t find the time or motivation to do my schoolwork. How do I manage this and also have a fun senior year?

Sincerely,

A Busy Senior Student-Athlete

Dear A Busy Senior Student-Athlete,

I’m sorry to hear that you are having trouble, but you got this. I know your senior year is typically supposed to be fun, but I think that you chose those classes because you thought you could handle them. Sounds like this year you are going to learn a lot about time management. I believe in you! Some tips that I use to manage my time better is studying or doing homework when I have any free time at school, which helps me not have to stay up super late at night. Make a schedule of your day and plan when you are going to do homework which will help you get into a routine of doing it. I know that you need a break between school, sports, and studying, so I recommend taking some time to yourself every once in a while to focus on you when you don’t have as much homework. I am in same boat as you this year, but I think we can get through it will some time management skills which will help you in the future! I think this year is going to be fun, so don’t forget in the midst of all of this to have a good time!

With Love,

Lily Collins
