The holidays are a busy time of the year for everyone. With many upcoming Christmas celebrations coming up, why not incorporate a fun way to warm up in the winter weather. A hot chocolate bar is a great way to amp up any holiday get-together. Whether you are inviting 6 or 25 people, putting together a hot chocolate bar is easy and fun for people of any age!
Let’s talk hot chocolate….
A hot chocolate bar obviously would not be complete without hot chocolate of course. Hot chocolate is easy to make, and display on your bar. You can put your hot chocolate in a beverage dispenser or even a crockpot!!
10/10 Hot Chocolate Recipe
You will need…
Whole milk
Hershey’s Cocoa Powder
Sugar
Hot Water
Start with your whole milk, heat however much you think you will need, depending on the amount of guests you are planning to serve. (can be heated in a crockpot, on stovetop, or in the microwave) In a separate and smaller bowl, add your cocoa and sugar in a 1-2 ratio. (one part cocoa, two parts sugar) Slowly add enough hot water to create a thick, syrup consistency. Make sure all of your sugar is dissolved. (you may need to heat up your chocolate syrup mixture in order to do so) Add your Syrup to your heated milk to taste, and stir. If your hot chocolate is too sweet, you may need more milk, if it is too milky, you may want to add more chocolate.
Mix-Ins
Your hot chocolate bar won’t complete without mix-in’s! This may include:
traditional syrups (chocolate or carmel)
marshmallows
candy cane pieces
whipped cream
chocolate chips
sprinkles
cinnamon
sea salt
Display it!
It wouldn’t be a hot chocolate bar if it isn’t cute! You can start with your cups and hot chocolate (however you decide to serve it) and all of your fun toppings! You can put them in separate bowls with tongs for easy and sanitary hot chocolate creation for your guests!
